Born on what she describes as "a chilly December night in the frost bitten city of Manhattan", Amanda Swisten spent her childhood in Connecticut. As a child, Swisten enjoyed swimming competitively, playing kickball, and building sandcastles. At the age of 15, her family moved to Charlottesville, VA, and she enrolled at a Private School there. About this time, Swisten was approached by a modeling scout, who invited her to NYC. Unable to go, her mother helped her put a portfolio together, and began modeling soon after. She put college on hold (but later studied interior design) and instead began appearing in Elle, Cosmopolitan, Slitz, and (no surprise) Maxim, as well as modeling for many swimwear and lingerie companies. Her modeling career extended to music videos as well, where she appeared in Kid Rock's breakthrough video, "Bawitaba" and Eminem's "The Real Slim Shady". American Wedding will mark Swisten's film debut, and she hopes to continue acting. |
